Over a century ago in Namibia, German colonial forces carried out one of the first genocides of the 20th century, killing tens of thousands of Herero and Nama people through starvation, forced labour, and concentration camps. Though Germany recognized the genocide in 2021 and has returned some of the remains of victims, the fight for justice continues.
