Step two is to find the land! Even though we are close to town, we are technically outside of the city limits where we live. The land we bought could be divided, and the only restriction we had was that each person needed at least 2 acres to be able to build a home with a separate septic system and well. so we did not want to make any piece smaller than 2 acres when we redid the new property lines.
